I happened upon a tiny piece of information the other day about a largely unseen industrial junkyard about an hour away. With nothing better going on and almost no information on the place, Cambria and I set out in search of it. After a bit of trial and error, we found the property and headed into it. Less than 10 minutes in, we found the landowner (completely hammered) and some other big dude hanging out off to the side of the main strip. Knowing some junkyard owners have dogs kicking around, we decided to ask permission to walk around taking photos. Apparently, this spot had made it onto the internet a few years back as well, and the owner has been plagued with thefts and fires since, so he gave us a stern "Absolutely not!", and asked us to leave immediately.
Not wanting to push our luck, and since we were parked in the front lot, we decided to just head out in defeat. Upon arriving home, and doing a little research, it turns out the owner is usually a lot less friendly to people he finds on his property, often chasing them out with a shotgun. I guess we caught him on a good day.
If you know where this place is, I advise you not to try and trespass on the guy's property, and please leave the actual name of it offline. All he wants is to be left alone, and he will apparently let you know that aggressively.
If anyone reading this has an in with the owner and can possibly get me on the property with permission, send me an email. I'd love to see the property.
