Headed down to the Seekonk River Train Bridge and DeadEnd Drain yesterday with Cambria, Lickhole, and a guest from NY. I've shot both locations dozens of times so I didn't really bother with too many shots, and the ones I did take, I didn't spend any time at all on.
With very little notice to back out, we decided to have an impromptu Abandoned Dreams reunion last night in Providence. It'd been far too long since I'd got everyone together in one place, let alone outside and having a good time. Along for the trip was Cambria, Clahhhkie, Turrel, ClimbingDoug, CJ, and a new(ish) friend to Abandoned Dreams, Tcupcake.
It was about 5 degrees outside, but we decided to just do the usual Providence thing and wander around til we found something fun. I didn't bother to take all too many photos, mainly because I couldn't feel my fingers, but here's the few I did take.
We dodged construction workers, and lost CJ, at the Washington St. Bridge. ClimbingDoug and I climbed the Erection Bridge while everyone else hung out below the raised section underneath us chatting via cellphone with Bill Finan's GooglePex. We found the East Side Rail Tunnel to be sealed back up. We almost killed ourselves playing on a horribly unsafe playground. Hell, we even stopped to do a bit of snowsurfing and extreme snowfooting.
I've found planning to be the downfall of Abandoned Dreams events, so it looks like we're just gonna have to improvise last minute more often.
